The Hull Boy’s Inspirational Journey for Mental Health

Donations & Impact, Real Stories, Real Impact

At MMH Men's Mental Health, we believe in supporting individuals and grassroots movements that inspire positive change in men's lives. One of those individuals is Marcus Skeet — known online as @TheHullBoy1 — whose journey for mental health awareness is nothing short of remarkable.

Running the Length of the UK to Raise Awareness

Marcus, a 16-year-old from Hull, is running the entire length of the UK to raise vital funds for Mind, a mental health charity that supported him through his personal battles with OCD, depression, and suicidal thoughts. His goal is to raise £30,000 and show others struggling with mental health that they are not alone — and that there is help, hope, and healing.

Why We Chose to Support Marcus

At MMH, our mission is rooted in men's mental health awareness, transparency, and community support. We supported Marcus’s journey because it aligns with everything we stand for: turning pain into purpose, and making mental health part of everyday conversation. Every step Marcus takes brings visibility to issues that are often left in the dark — and we’re here to amplify that message.

Inspiring National Support

Marcus’s story has resonated across the UK. From receiving a £5,000 donation from NFL legend JJ Watt to being joined on the road by Russ Cook (“The Hardest Geezer,” the man who ran the length of Africa), the support for Marcus is a testament to how powerful a personal mission can be. His campaign is not just a fundraiser — it's a movement.

Standing Beside Everyday Heroes

We know that mental health heroes don’t always wear capes — sometimes they wear running shoes. Whether it's someone starting a conversation, offering a listening ear, or, like Marcus, going the extra mile (literally), every effort counts.

As our merch sales grow, we’ll continue to support young men, small groups, and mental health causes that are changing lives. These stories will be shared here in our Mental Health Donations & Impact category so you can see exactly where your support goes.
